Depression Therapy in Bellingham, MA

Sometimes the hardest part is how much effort ordinary life takes. Therapy can make room for what you are experiencing and help you identify a next step that feels possible.

More than a demand to think positively

Depression can affect how you feel, think, and manage everyday activities. You may still be working or caring for other people while having very little left for yourself. Being told to be grateful or get motivated may leave you feeling less understood.

We start by listening to what has changed, how long it has been difficult, and what life looks like now. That includes your relationships, losses, responsibilities, health, and the expectations you place on yourself.

A workable next step

Therapy can combine understanding with action. You and your clinician might look at patterns of withdrawal, the way you speak to yourself, or what makes a small task feel impossible. You can explore ways to reconnect with meaningful activities and people without turning recovery into another performance standard.

The work is shaped around your circumstances and reviewed as you go. Your clinician can also discuss whether coordination with other health professionals would be helpful. Therapy is one part of a plan that should fit your needs.

Support at My Choice Therapy

Our clinicians support people experiencing depression. James, Gail, and Khristy bring different backgrounds and approaches; an introductory conversation can help you find a good fit. Individual sessions are available through our Bellingham practice, in person and by telehealth.

If reaching out feels like a lot, the first conversation can be brief. You can ask about fit, insurance, and what getting started would involve. You do not have to explain your entire history in the introductory call.
