Anxiety
When your mind keeps scanning for what could go wrong, even ordinary decisions can become exhausting. Therapy gives you room to understand the worry and work toward a life with more choice.
Explore AnxietyKnowing what to do and being able to do it consistently can feel like two different problems. We work with the gap between intention and action, without making it a judgment about your character.

ADHD can involve difficulties with attention, organization, restlessness, and impulsivity. In daily life, you may also be carrying years of criticism about effort or reliability. A missed deadline or forgotten conversation can quickly become a story about who you are.
We look at both the practical difficulty and what it means to you. What makes a task hard to enter? Which demands compete for your attention? What happens when shame or frustration takes over? A useful strategy has to fit your real circumstances.
Work may include breaking a task into a visible first step, placing reminders where you need them, reducing decisions, and creating routines with realistic recovery plans when something goes wrong. Instead of designing an ideal day, we examine the day you actually have.
Sessions also make room for self-concept, emotional reactions, and relationships. You might practice asking for a specific kind of support, explaining a difficulty without avoiding responsibility, or repairing a conflict about follow-through. The goal is to develop options you can test and adjust.
James Maguire works with ADHD and executive functioning concerns in adolescents and adults, and with ADHD-related friction in couples. His approach combines reflection with practical strategies and ways to respond differently outside the session.
Our practice provides psychotherapy; medication questions belong with a prescribing clinician. During a consultation, ask about the support you are seeking, whether further assessment may be relevant, and the appointment format that fits your needs.
